I was surprised to see this one while browsing through airliners.net.
Managed to find a web page about it in Spanish, which seems to suggest it’s a recently completed replica.

Can anyone add more?

Any idea why the Kinner was removed for a Rotec R3600?

I’ve managed to find out a little bit more about this replica thanks to a PM from one of the guys involved, and a bit of online digging. She’s the work of the Pur Sang Historic Aircraft Team at Parana city airport, and she first flew in January. Aside from the Kinner, she’s a highly accurate replica.
I’ve also found some footage of her on youtube.

She seems to fly beautifully, and that Kinner actually sounds rather good!

Cooling problems would be the least of their worries in flight. In most of the pictures there is no covering on the port wings

Definitely a Kinner up front.
It appears that they have some cooling problems while in flight as the picture show that it has cowls only wjhen displayed on the ground. None when in the air.

The engine appears to be a Kinner R5 or B5. Very well done.
