Can anyone confirm that this is a fuselage panel form an Anson? There was thoughts it might be Battle but the number 6471 comes back as Anson MK1. The number may not be the serial it might be a coincidence..?
Thoughts??

It was common on the squadrons to mark the panels with the a/c serial number as they were usually ‘customised’ to easily fit their aircraft.

Peter
Isn’t there an Anson somewhere you can compare it to? I thought you had a lot out there!
Someone on the forum should be able to help. You could contact the medway aircraft preservation society as they are still working on the battle.

A quick bit of research said it might be MK1 anson but there was rumor that it was battle too…?

Anson panel?
It certainly looks Anson-ish.
However, with several marks to chose from it is difficult to be sure. Right now I cannot think where it might fit on our Mk II. It looks more Mk V-ish.

Hi Peter,
I vote Anson, if only for the fasteners, which abound on the Annie.
But they might have been used on the Battle, too of course!
I have spares if anyone needs them!
