Hi All,
I have just been on the ‘Warbird Restoration’ Facebook page with this extremely welcome news to any ‘Arrow’ fans…..
The ‘Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’ has partnered an exploration company to look for the lost scale models used in testing on Lake Ontario.
You can view the video at the two Facebook pages below if Vimeo does not play for you.

Hi All,
DH82EH – Actually until you pointed it out I never realised my mistake even though it was staring me straight in the face…:stupid: Anyway here is the video
again plus more for anybody interested plenty of vids on Youtube though. I really like the Super Arrow being promoted if Canada decides to dump the F-35….
Alberta Replica.

No apology required Geoff.
I was merely making a clarification.
The RL201 pic added info to the thread for sure.
All best

The original de Havilland plant still stands. It has been turned in to a Tech school.

Bombardier Aerospace, as an aside, has sold the airport property. The current plan is for the airfield to cease operations in about five years.

This whole thing just makes me so sad. My wife and I visited the Toronto Aerospace Museum in 2007, and really enjoyed it. Sure, it wasn’t as fancy or even well organized as some of the bigger museums, but they still had tons of really cool stuff. I really like those smaller, more “homey” museums. And the historic location made it extra special. Did the city ever tear it down and redevelop the site as planned?

The second photo (RL 201) is the Alberta FSM.
I see the Toronto Aerospace museum replica quite often as I work at Toronto Pearson Airport.
I took the third picture (as Geoff has credited) as that is a friend of mine standing underneath.
I have often lamented that this very nicely done replica might meet the fate of the original and get chopped up.
This defunct museum has also lost Lancaster FM104, so, that doesn’t really bode too well for the fate of this Arrow.

Looking at the latest ,FlyPast, I noticed there is another Arrow FSM in Alberta.
Are there any others out there?

I think Hamilton would be the best home for it.

Yes, it’s a HUGE conspiracy….but don’t tell any one.
Really, museums and collections have disposed of many aircraft, so it’s not out of the realm of possibly that a replica…no matter how nice and unusual would find itself temporarily homeless.
I’d guess that Canadian museums are no different from those in the U.K. when it comes to space and hangar limitations.

Hi All,
Fouga23 – Thanks for the link :eagerness:
Here’s a conspiracy theory concerning this ‘ Does somebody want the whole Arrow saga to be wiped from history ? ‘….:p

A second time that there is an Arrow disgrace in Canada. Hope it finds a new home soon 🙁
By: KurtB - 17th August 2018 at 19:52
This might not be a big deal to many, because of its replica status, but huge amounts of peoples time went into this. They did it because they had a goal, a belief that part of Canada’s aviation history should be celebrated and remembered. And my goodness, it’s also a bit of a looker!
Is there anyone in Canada who can donate a corner of a hangar or a large barn? Heck, with the amount of “Barn finds” going on in the classic car world, you’d think there’d be space somewhere?!
By: Wyvernfan - 17th August 2018 at 11:09
Makes you wonder why it’s been allowed to happen. Even without permanent cover, regular maintenance and checks should of stopped this debacle from happening!

Hi All,
Kurt – I couldn’t agree more. In this day and age when the restoration world knows what damage can occur to even some cocooned airframes let alone
replicas that are I assume not as sturdy ? it’s absolutely disgusting hat a new custodian can promise one thing then just dump it where she is and not
bother about it is unforgivable….:(
Geoff.
By: KurtB - 17th August 2018 at 09:19
This is deplorable behaviour. I assume there is no storage nearby? Even a Dutch Barn over the replica would be better than letting it rot, surely?!

Hi All,
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but has anybody seen these dreadful images of the Avro replica in it’s current state ? ( Images courtesy of:- https://www.facebook.com/Lancaster-FM104-168591673179822/ ).
I know I joked about the Dux Beau will need to be restored if left to linger, but it has actually come to pass for this magnificent replica all that hard work
just wasted because the current custodians who promised so much failed big time…..:stupid:
From This.
Looks like a promising future!! (Courtesy of DH82EH)
To These sad images. I found this one via Google courtesy of:-[/B] https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/time-to-step-up-to-save-avro-arrow-replica

Replica of Canadian aviation’s iconic CF-105 “Avro Arrow” has been neglected by the ones who promised to keep her safe and protected. Yet they have
failed to do so. Let’s all get together and use power of social media to find this one of kind full scale metal replica of CF-105 “Arrow” a permanent home
for people to see her.
148 members of former Toronto Aerospace museum built her, I am one those members and have spent 4 years of my life building her.
She has been neglected for 4 years by former Canadian Air and Space Museum’s BOD team to find her permanent home. As you can see in these current
pictures, that her plastic shrink wrap has torn away and she is sitting in open elements! Rust has started to form on her as can be seen in these pictures
taken by Tom Podolec.
Let’s all share these pictures and put pressure on her guardians to find her a home where public can see and appreciate her for the reasons this
replica was created. (Picture credit: Tom Podolec)
Anyone who want to save this replica from the neglect should join it by “Liking” it. https://m.facebook.com/Avro-Arrow-Replica-Volunteers-25650…/
