I am wondering if anybody has any pictures of the last surviving B1 Vulcan that Cosford murdered. I have 3 taken after she was towed around the back of the Hangars and left to die but does anyone have any others out there? Any of her during her scrapping? 😡

Any shots of 900 or 903 in their final death throes? I had black and white shots of 900 before she was destroyed but in the colour shots she really doesn’t look that bad, not like our dearly beloved ‘391. White shows up deterioration very well. Were the people at Cosford a little premature?

Question though – Is the Meteor NF14(?) in the last picture the one that is now in camo colours at Coventry, and am I correct in thinking it is the prototype NF14, or at least an early pre-production one?
Well spotted!!! It is indeed Meatbox NF.14 WS838 which now resides at the Midland Air Museum. Not sure what it was doing next to the Vulcan on that shot, it’s a good job the scrappy didn’t think it was going too!
Not being a big meatbox fan I can’t comment on whether it’s the prototype or early production NF.14. Anyone else?

Gentlemen,
Thankyou for posting those, although sad.
As a child I remember the white Vulcan and Victor at Cosford, my local museum, and when I heard they were to be scrapped I pestered my parents until they took me there, to get photos of them both before they vanished. Sadly by then they had both been scrapped and I never got a single photo of either.

Excellent! Any more gents? These are the ones I got from Colin Mears that I posted on ViC…
Here’s mine that I took a few weeks prior to scrapping 🙁
I remember seeing XA903 on the famous “dump in the trees” at Farnborough when attending the airshows, with all the scrapyard talk, I don’t suppose someone’s got a good shot of her derelict in this location they’d like to post?
