After watching an E-3 senty at southport this year it got me thinking how vulnerable would an E-3 be in battlefield. I assume that they have a full ew suite but surely it would still be a target for SAMs. Would an E-3 be escorted by Tornado F3’s or Eurofighters or similar, this seems a waste to have supersonic fighters reduced to subsonic speed to keep up with the E-3. It will be great to hear any thoughts on this.
