Navigators Wander Lamp out of Crashed B-36 Bomber.
Hi B-17 man,
Been following your project for a while now and I have a Navigators wander light I took out of Wrecked B-36H Bomber at Goose Bay in Labrador, Canada, back in June 1972. Which I’d like to donate to your project as I think the same lamps were fitted in all WW2 US Bombers. The Lamp is in excellent condition complete and working (not elect tested though) front lense clips off, sliding telescope works great, Dimmer switch works.——It’s as it was from crash.
Have PM’d you, explaining same, but cannot seem to attach pics. So have posted here so I can. Have included some taken of the wreck at time, (Thats me in funny trousers leaning on Separated Cabin underside.) Here is the Goleta Web-Site that covers details of B-36 crashes worldwide and the Goose Bay one.:-
http://www.air-and-space.com/b-36%20wrecks.htm#51-5719
And his pics were taken in 1978. That cabin looks a good candidate for C/pit Fest, but it is a monster !!!!!
The B-36H No:- 15729 crashed at Goose Bay in Feb 1953 while in a holding pattern to land, but it ran out of fuel. 2 crew members were killed in crash so i cannot make or take anything from this donation but I feel your project is right place for it. As its almost certain the Crew would be ex WW2 Bomber Crews.
All the best with your continuing project.

…Great work there Man .. Do you have a particular ‘plane that you would like to dedicate this wonderful project to ?….
…”Only” a few more feet forward and you could incorporate some wonderful nose art of your choice. She would be an even more incredible display.

I am so jealous of your ability and facilities, what you’re producing is a work of art.

Cool! I want to build a b29 cockpit now! But would cost too much for a 13 year old! And I don’t have a good paying job yet! But would still be a good long term project for me:)

Any chance of some pictures of the cushions and stencilling on their own so I’ve got a better idea of what to make?
By: trumper - 6th June 2015 at 19:14
:applause: Superb
By: B-17man - 6th June 2015 at 17:23
The seat cushion was a copy that was made during the Red Tails film, I managed to get the art department to make me 2 for my seats
By: Arabella-Cox - 6th June 2015 at 16:49
Is the seat cushion original or a copy? Either way, I could do with one for the back of my Flying Control Dodge if you have a source for them. Failing that, wifey is going to have to get her sewing machine out.

That is seriously impressive!! well done. You wouldn’t have the upper housing of B-17 control column spare would you??
