B-17 sighting in Montana

I am down visting my gf in Billings MT. I was sitting at a stoplight chatting with her nephew when what flies low over the car but a B-17! Circled town once and then landed at the airport. I think perhaps it was “Sentimental Journey” as it was silver with a red tail. Anyone know where she was heading or where she had come from? little early for the air show season in MT and surrounding area. Maybe the coast?

I was in Billings today as well. I’d been there for the last couple of weeks, and had stopped by the airport to take some shots of the A-26’s across the field when the B-17 roared in for landing. 😎 Very cool suprise!

There are A-26’s at Logan? what for? have to check them out next time i am there! That would be a checkmark in the postive catagory for Billings, one of teh very very few. Wont be there until i get back from Sweden in Sept.

PS very nice pics everyone!

It was in Denver on June 9th…

A photo of a dinner/dance centered at Centennial Airport last week. We hope to chase the Nine-O-Nine in a few weeks in Everett, WA. Check out www.warbirdrecovery.com for updates.

She spent the weekend of June 3-4 in Spokane.
She looks a lot better than when I lst saw her…more authentic.

I had my first B-17 ride in “Aluminum Overcast” this past Friday when she was in Spokane, thanks to Lowell Thompson. It was a beautiful morning for an awesome, unforgettable flight.
