B-17 “The Pink Lady” Performs Taxi Test

I’ve done a forum search but couldn’t find any reference to this so I’m posting this link that I found whilst googling on a “bored moment”. It looks like they have fired up the Pink lady again….. great news in my book (So long as she stays in Europe)!

I’m hoping that some younger people have taken up the challenge to keep her going with the knowledge and the finance. Time will tell.

I thought the reason for her “retirement” was a lack of engineering expertise to keep her airworthy and not really lack of funds?

It certainly would be nice to see her over here again with “Sally B” – the prospect of three B-17s in the air when “Liberty Belle” was doing it’s tour was foiled by “Sally B’s” engine gremlins…

Fingers crossed, let’s hope that there are some seriously interested people with the money out there that want to see her fly again.
