Was a GR3 kit I was doing Bex. Time hasnt allowed me to do anything on it yet other than get down to Wittering to snap their gate guard and look on the net to see what detail sets to get for it.

Being 1/24th though all the sets are so bloomin expensive, but as the kit is old and expensive it needs something to sex it up a bit.

Will have a look at the technicolour airforce. Maybe you should ask if Mr V will allow one of his real aircraft to be painted in one of your….errrr….unique schemes? :diablo:

Oh Im doing well on faux pas today Martin, er please dont mention the other one I made earlier….. OR I’ll set Heidi on a repainting mission to the Midlands area LoL As for askin Mr. V, he’d probably tell me to go away (polite forum version LoL) Oh and its her that has the “Unique schemes” and when shes not looking I’ll do a photo of her 737 for the album and what she did when she “Hijacked” my 747 😡 Bex

Cheers for the compliment Cees,

Its based on the 1/72nd Hasegawa kit. Spent ages detailing the internal cockpit areas only to find once the fuselage halves had been joined you cant see ****** all.

There was indeed a Handley Page wing tested but this is representing the Folland wing they installed for reasearch purposes.

My item is using a modified Airfix Gnat wing corrected dimensionally. The frame work around the base of this wing has still to be constructed which is why she is looking a little basic at the minute.

Other than that and converting the rudders to represent the Lincoln type that PA474 has fitted she isnt far of being finished. All I have to do is find the time.

Its funny so far its taken me longer to get this far with the kit than it took them to do the major on the fullsize 😀

Nice conversion PhanPhix

Is that the Handley Page wingfoil that was tested on PA474?

Does she still bear the scars of the set up on the fuselage skin?
Fluffy????

A work of art that Mart.

I think dispite comments on here of it being a modellers dream, the fact that you are spending quite a lot of time on this subject is great.

It will show how even earlier aircraft were used in experimental modes. Great looking model mate, keep it up;)

Anyone who believed a word of this should be stripped of their copies of Observers Book of Aircraft and sent to bed without their iced lollies.:D

Cool but not real

I believe that is NOT a true story, rather a model builders dream.

Talking of Lancaster conversions thought you may like to see my not quite so radical one.

Its a work in progress so I apologise for the blue talk holding some parts in place but a topical build after PA474 flew out of Coventry yesterday.

Its PA474 in an earlier guise when she was overall silver minus turrets but with a wing stuck on her top fuselage. Differant but not as diff as the previous posting 😉
