As many of you who frequent the various aviation boards know, there is an ongoing project back in the great state of Texas, where the Commemorative Air Force LB-30 is being transformed back into her original bomber configuration of a B-24A. This project is being masterminded by the CAF B-24/B-29 crew chief, Gary Austin. So here is the request for help! For all of you anoraks…… dig into your picture and drawing files…… Gary is in desperate need of photos of the inside and outside of the B-24A/LB-30 tail gunners position. He has only one or two decent photos of the outside….. nothing on the inside….. With as many air miles flown above the sea on sub patrols, someone has got to have a great collection of pics of these slab sided birds. So here is a pic showing what has been rebuilt so far on the tail gunners position.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. If you have not been following the conversion, pickup the thread here. TIA, Alan Brooks
