Last year this project plan was noted here but everyone claimed it didnt exist…… well perhaps they need to read this update – http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55449&sid=439184636a925aabe7bc1d39dbee1179
Enough proof now 🙂 ?

I must say I’m surprised the Reevers team is looking at non-RAAF schemes, but the Duke of Brabant machine is quite striking, so I see the appeal. I’m afraid I have no photos or ideas to share, just enthusiasm!

Reevers is looking to repaint our B-25 Mitchell “Lucky Lady” into an appropriate B-25 NEIAF / Netherlands East Indies Air Force WW2 colour scheme. See more at the link – https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=432731983571669
or if not on facebook send us a message if you know of anything that could be suitable.
Try the Duke of Brabant Air Force crew. They did extensive research into 18 Sq schemes before picking their current scheme for their B-25. There are a lot of other 18Sq aircraft with names, characters, etc. Certainly makes for the more unusual schemes, and very relevant to Oz.

G’day Ewan
If I’m incorrect I apologise
always looking to level the playing field – crikey, now I’m starting to sound like someone from HR……
Peter Smythe

Hi Peter
Sorry I was not aware so stand corrected. I’ve not sold the stuff from Tocumwal other than a couple of pieces last year which in all honesty was all that could be saved. Rest comes from elsewhere. And it’s all declared every year
Anyway hope that’s all sorted and good luck 🙂

B-25 being prepared to move to Australia
Bellarine
Its a pastoral company or similar owned by Peter Smythe. He has a few projects that are mentioned on the Facebook page but other than that I don;t know much more. Phil/Daniel here is apparently acting as his PR so he could fill you in more…..
Peter was involved in a well known ebay legal dispute some years back – google eBay wirraway case for the history.

This question of who we are has been answered quite well on both the Facebook page and on wix – while registered as a Pastoral company it doesn’t stop us from diverting our interests in order to keep our passion of cattle breeds going.
I am not the owner and this is a clear misleading statement, there is no document that states this official or otherwise, My wife is the Director and I am a share holder and the Companies constitution has a presiding Accountant to advise etc.
This structure was preferred for 2 reasons a) my employment with the Federal government forbids me being the Director of a company and b) my declining health over the years means my wife would be left in a better situation of continuing control
should I go to the big warbird kahuna in the sky. Its as simple as that. Ewan knows more than he is letting on, my first encounter with him was an item he was selling from his granddads shed, but he expressed a desire to look for more warbird items and locations. I advised Tocumwal and off he went. Many of the items he has sold on eBay look remarkably like those recovered from Tocumwal. Reevers pays taxes on its sales and purchases, Ewan has an ebay account with significant sales accounted for.
The Australian tax office considers many eBay sales as taxable income – a phone call to them will confirm this. My point here is that to the best of our ability, Reevers is transparent while some critics are not, we can live with that, but we do like to have the facts and evidence presented correctly, especially if a third party with limited inside knowledge passes comment on Reevers activities. The Wirraway purchase is well documented and made Case law globally, it was the first time any party had challenged the legality of the eBay auctioning system and has now set a benchmark for all online auction sites. If anyone has genuine questions they would like to ask, they will be answered via Facebook and where possible by Phil. why Phil? because we trust him and he has
demonstrated he can remain silent on confidential matters i.e. entire story of the purchase of this B-25 and its arrival in Australia and other projects still awaiting disclosure to the public.
I hope this helps to sort out the truth from the rumour
regards

Thanks Ewan, I also asked at WIX and Peter answered for me. As well as sharing the name it’s a reference to “raiders” in Scots-Roman times. The connection is lost on me – I thought it would be a setup owned by someone named Reever/Reevers – but at least now I know!

One question, which I think I asked on Facebook without response (that I noted): who or what is “Reevers”?

2 more photos of the Reevers B-25 Mitchell bomber as it currently is in the USA before it is moved to Australia for restoration. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Reevers-Warbirds-Roundup-News/422369271274607

The first of a few photos of the now underway B-25 “Lucky Lady” project heading to Australia see it at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Reevers-Warbirds-Roundup-News/422369271274607
The B-26 Invader has been assessed as needing much more work to return to the air. It may be delayed by 1-2 years or more we are not sure at this stage how long.
We are looking at releasing more detail to a Australian aviation magazine with a bigger update soon.

I saw the update in my Facebook news feed last night, wonderful stuff! It’s great to see someone has taken up the offer to assist in the dismantling for transport. I must say though that from the wording it looks like a long road ahead to airworthiness?
Also, how long until the A-26 is flying? I’ve been following that with interest but haven’t seen any updates in a while.

If you throw about “quotes”, you should provide an actual source.
Doubting isn’t the same as saying “never existed”.

Another update on the bomber that “never existed” — see more at the Reevers story https://www.facebook.com/pages/Reevers-Warbirds-Roundup-News/422369271274607

Ahha, thanks for the link! I think the Bedsheet Bomber should be taken out of its misery. :apologetic:
By: Mike J - 23rd March 2015 at 11:31
Follow my link above Meddle and it will give you the entire history of the former Aces High cameraship ‘Dolly’, now back in the US and a different aircraft altogether from ‘Bedsheet Bomber’.
By: Meddle - 23rd March 2015 at 10:18
Which was the one called “Trolly Dolly” (from memory), which used to be at N.Weald ?
I think that is the Bedsheet Bomber, which is now at Booker and looks a sad sight;

Great news for us in Oz. From memory we only have 1 x B25 which is way up in Darwin.
The museum at Darwin has one on display and very substantial remains of two more in storage. And there’s one still sitting in the Kimberleys.
