It helps if you’re taking the aircraft apart to be close to the builder (although the G models were built at Boeing Wichita).

Also, notice the new paint…the white undersides…the color scheme used between the late 60s and late 70s.

Being a G it wasn’t retired until the mid-80s or later, so I wonder if they’ll have undo any later mods that won’t match the earlier style paint…
or Do they care…
or am I the only one to notice? 🙂

Most of the preserved Stratofortresses are D’s in Vietnam-era paint (like the one at Duxford) because they were naturally retired first.
So it’s good to see a G going to a good home.
