British Airways Maintance Glasgow
Today the 21st of April was the AGM for the Scottish Aviation News (SCAN) which was held at Glasgow Airport , Before the AGM ‘ I had arranged a visit to B.A.M.G for some group members
We were given a guided tour of the faclities at Glasgow and were shown what actually happens to an aircraft during a major Check, we were also given accses to both of the aircraft, Boeing 737 G-DOCL which was in for a 2C Check and Airbus A320 G- EUUD which was in for a 4C check
So many thanks to the Guys and Gals at BA Glasgow

A Nice new clean Interior, the carpets are replace every Year

Then On to A320 G-EUUD

I remember for my work experience when i was still at school (must have been about 8 years ago maybe) i went to B.A.M.G. What a great time it was. Part of my time was spent in the hanger where i was ‘helping’ with things like holding the leading edge flaps up on my shoulders (with a few other guys) and putting nuts back in over the wings and stuff.
The rest of my time was spent on the the ramp where i done a few push backs and got drenched on one side of me on the domestic pier as we pushed one of the shuttles out.
Oh and i found out where one of the black box recorders are on a 757. Did you know they’re not actually black? 😀 😉 And the biz seats on Continental were really comfy, pity i couldn’t go to new york with them….
I guess that sort of thing won’t be allowed to happen anymore.

Many thanks for the comments Guys,
What we are seeing is the aircraft at the end of the checks, and both were going through their Hydraulic checks, Flaps, slats ,and undercarriage, and everything that had been removed was either being refitted or already had been, in fact G-DOCL , was pushed out for engine Runs just after we left
G-EUUD was due to leave the hangar today 12th

Great photos! 😎 🙂 Nice to see something different once in a while. How easy is it to arrange such ‘guided tours’ at BAMG?
Cheers Adam,
I have inside knowledge ,who has direct contact with the powers that be ,they were more than happy to accommodate our group, outside that it is very hard to arrange a tour due to security , health and safety
