As I’ll be on board the Lancaster for one of these flights out of Humberside, I’ll give the people in the Chieftain a wave.

I too wondered about that. We see encouraging noises to that effect but in cool hard terms when is Jane actually likely to fly? Is it truly a strong possibility?

It states in the news report that these are the last remaining Lancaster’s flying, well that is for now with just Jane heading towards airworthiness in the future !

More accurately , the headline should surely be, “…in the UK for the FIRST time”? (I assume, since it’s Canadian-built). Or did it come across in more recent times?

Yes, she has. As was pointed at to me on another thread, visited St Eval in 1953 and Prestwick in 1957-8. But of course this is the first time owned by CWHM.

I wonder how many photos taken from the ground will have to be cropped to get the other planes out of view. Is the money going back into the Canadian Lancaster?

It may have passed through UK enroute to Burma before being crated.:dev2:

If I had the money to spare my name would have been on the list even though it is silly money. I am sure they will have no trouble selling out.

How do they know it is the last flight it will make to the UK? Basically, nobody can say it is, even though it may be unlikely to return in the near future.
