Ok I am sure I will get the answer here, I have been told that a photo is sharing around on FaceAche appertaining to show a bare metal or Silver B17 in the UK that has just arrived, now if true I am sure it would of been uploaded here.
Please can someone put it to bed as to what where etc etc, I do not use FaceAche so cannot check
Thank you in advance

I believe the OP of the first post later said he believes he saw a P-3.

The Red Bull DC-6 has not flown for a couple of weeks, as far as I can establish from flight-tracking sites and Red Bull’s own website.

No sightings today as far as I’m aware, most likely in my opinion the DC-6 has landed somewhere.

Any sightings today? I don’t think you can smuggle a B17 into this country undetected, but it seems odd that this aircraft has two threads dedicated to it. I can’t find any images on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, so this will have to remain a mystery.

Didnt another B17 coming to the UK rumour get started by the commentators at Shuttleworth last year during Sally B’s display? Think it was the military pageant

Fake news ?!
By: J Boyle - 22nd June 2018 at 22:48
If the OP is correct on the color, my suggestion here would be the same as the one I presented on the other mystery B–17 thread: The DC-6 or perhaps a P-3.

By: olly_s - 22nd June 2018 at 20:48
Oh gosh I thought I was going mad when I posted my thread haha turns out I wasnt hallucinating and it was infact a B17 (maybe)! This is a rather big mystery, and it would be hard to cover up a B17 surely?

Liberty Belle visited a few years back, before her unfortunate accident.

The last bare metal b 17 I recall was at Duxford , it later became Sally B, but did sit outside a fair while.
