Gary Velasco is making full size B24 replica sides.
http://fightingcolors.com/Companypageimages/b-24j_hull_panel.htm

Although same panel position – I dont think this is one of his.

It def looks like an original bit of B24 that has been saved from the scrapper. for example – Perspex from the main canopy in upper RHS and the damaged edges are unnecessary in a replica.

Next question is whether the artwork is original

There was a lot of variety on original artwork – with some very good artists coming from Civvy street into the USAAF and RAF. The artwork on the Vargas girl is very good and this is the Esquire artwork from Nov 1944 .

One of the best was Tony Starcer – but his work is mainly on B17’s

It would be nice to see the aircraft code in the top LHS to see if the aircraft date matches with the artwork date.

I am not sure why the fading across the writing does not extend across the artwork at the same position.

Also need to check diameters on the bullet holes, fading of the perspex and burning on the metal edges etc. to make sure.

Answer – I think it may be original but would need a lot of up close checking.

If the piece is being sold as a reproduction ~ all well and good.

I’ve seen modern renditions of nose art on large skin panels for sale in the USA.
This could be one of those …..

If I were looking to buy such a piece as an original panel ~ I would want to look at the structure on the back of the skin and in this case …… take a close look at the apparent combat related “bullet holes” near the nose art.

Here’s a picture of the Collings Foundations B-24J ~ taken at Willow Run in 2005.
The rivet detail does not look to be the same in my humble opinion.

Sticking my neck out in ignorance as usual, but by the look of that blister window, I think that’s a B-24?

Well its VARGA inspired Esquire artwork.

There were several B24’s called Achin Back as well as a B29.
