BA 2911 MAN – LGW

Hey again people,
Hope you enjoyed the report of 2906 to Manchester. No shots from this flight because my phone died getting to MAN.

Again, checking in online the night before departure, meant i could leave to go to Manchester later than i normally would. I turned up at Manchester Terminal 3 with about an hour to go before departure.

I decided to check my bag in, only because it was heavier than what i could be bothered to carry. I then went through a rather long pointless line at security and got me a cuppa. Well deserved after watching Liverpool FC’s efforts on TV the night before . i was told to go to gate 141, the same i arrived at.

Looking around, it made me realise how clean and relatively well maintained Manchester Airport is. The staff there were happy, whether that was to do with the dsays earlier FA cup tie i dont know, but although very busy, were very helpful…

had my plane arrive early, and it was operated by G-GFFJ. While the plane was having the turnaround treatment i watched a company 757 load up and go. By the looks of it, was abslutely jam packed.

We boarded nice and early, to be greeted by a miserable looking set of stewards and i wasnt too impressed with the state of the plane, clenliness wise etc etc. 🙁

We took off and climbed very quickly to 19,000ft. We were in thick cloud for the whole flight so not much really to talk about. For food, i was served an Apricot and Coconut cookie. I can still taste it, it was that awful, altho to their credit i had another cup of tea and it was delicious :p 😀

Turbulance kicked in just north of London and was making good time, especially having left MAN slap bang on time then the pilot announced ”The weather conditions are less than desirable at London Gatwick and there are a lot of other aircraft trying to get in and out of there. Unfortunately if theres too much trouble on approach we may have to divert elsewhere”

Me being a bit of a nervous flyer was thinking ‘crap, sh!t bo!!ocks’ :o. Well im guessing the Pilot swallowed his balls and pride and landed the plane. The landing was smooth given the very very bumpy conditions but the approach was worse and more bumpier than the one to MAN. On a couple of occasions the pilot applied full thrust to counteract the heavy winds.

as we crossed the threshold of 26L i saw from my window (which for this flight was 15F) the Oasis flight ready to go aswell as the Air Namibia A340 and Air Zimbabwe 767 ready to go.

After a break neck slow down, we taxied to gate 554 and parked up next to a company 737-400. From 554 to Arrivals hall its a 15min power walk. Couldnt have parked further away from the Arrivals hall if they tried, but not their fault i suppoose  🙂

For this flight i give BA a 7/10. Mainly cos i didnt feel…hmm…didnt feel safe on board and there wa sa slight scent of arrogance from the crew.

BA still maintain he place as my fave airline to travel on and wouldnt hesistate to choose to fly them again.

Thanks for viewing 😀

Another great read mate :), at least your gloomy predictions of whether you’d survive the flights didn’t come to anything! 😀 .
