Well it would seem the BA and AA have finally got their wish to form an alliance after many years of trying.
The plan to merge with Iberia also seems to be coming to fruition, creating a 3 tiered ‘super airline’. Needless to say Mr Branson and co are not amused…

I would imagine the BA-IB plan will be like LX-LH and AF-KL (although i dont think that LX-LH share the profits, is it that they are run under different CEO’S or something like that, i know that AF-KL is just one group but run sepratley).
I would think that the the AA-BA is like KL-NW or AF-DL combination?

Well, actually they’re no further along yet than they have been on the last two occasions that they put in an application for anti-trust immunity. It is unlikely that a decision will be made by the US on this until AT LEAST the middle of next year, so untl then they will not be able to co-operate beyond the levels they already do.
