BA Collection News 28-04-06

While everyone, myself included, has raked over the coals of the BA Collection regarding the rights and wrongs of recent decisions, it has all become totally irrelevant anyway this week.

The Trident was sat on its hardstanding last Sunday, completely unfenced. The following photograph shows what’s happened in the last five days….

No apologies for bringing up this subject again. The Viscount fuselage is now inside at East Fortune in the store hanger and the Trident cockpit is on display.

that’s one pretty aircraft.

Too true. But remember that one day Senna will step off a VC10 into a Lotus 49, go flat through Eau Rouge and then depart in a Hunter F6.

Oh it’s all too much for me – heartbreaking.

When I’m king, they’ll all fly again.

It says the fuselage will be carefully dismantled not the fin! At least at Cosford they are using correct equipment. the “Elf and Safety” people at East Fortune must have a different view!! See the 1-11. This brings back happy memories of putting aircraft together at East Fortune using pallets but bales of Straw!! Never!

‘Carefully dismantled’

If British Airways and Cosford say that, it must be true.

Isn’t there an F111 in the building which represents the USAF contribution

The RAFM has never had the F-84-F on display and when it was donated to the British people c/o the Historic Aircraft Museum at Southend as was it’s a great shame. There is an interest from a U.K museum in getting her on display indoors which I hope happens.
I find it fairy ironic that the new building showcases the Cold War but I dout any of our NATO partners aircraft will be on display despite their efforts .

Latest pics from Cosford (taken last weekend) Any one heard where any part of the VC10 is going if at all anywhere?

Nice surprise was to see the Pioneer back though. Another thaought, havent Cosford got a thunderflash/thunderstreak stored somewhere on base and wasnt that part of the cold war? So why isnt it in the new hanger?
