I’m not too keen on it myself, especially the position of the BA logo, but… it’s still a jumbo!

No it’s not, BA’s has Rolls Royce engines….:diablo:
How can a paint scheme have angines:confused:;)
Cheers, Huw:)

It’s exactly the same as BAs.

it could have been phrased better (if you want to be critical :D).
I might just want to be;):D
Cheers, Huw:)

I’m not on about the position of things, I mean it visually looks nicer (i.e quoting ‘that looks horrible’ in my previous post – I guess it could have been phrased better (if you want to be critical :D).
BA’s blue stripe made their livery look too cluttered compared to this.

I don’t think it’s too bad… A lot better than BA’s attempt!

Oh dear god, they get worse…that looks horrible, the blue just doesnt suit it at all!

I disgree Bmused55, I think both Star liveries are way better than this…but I suppose that is just a matter of opinion and personal taste.:D
If anything, I think it would look slightly better perhaps if they had taken the British Airways logo and put it towards the back of the aircraft, like they have done on the OpenSkies livery: http://www.airliners.net/photo/OpenSkies-(British-Airways)/Boeing-757-236/1456721&tbl=photo_info&photo_nr=12&sok=WHERE__%28airline_%3D_%27OpenSkies_%28British_Airways%29%27%29_&sort=_order_by_photo_id_DESC_&prev_id=1457730&next_id=1454625
I like it looks nice 😎 Though Jon mate I have to not agree with you I think it looks better were the BA logos are but it would nice to see what it looks like with the BA logos like Openskies.

Yes this does look cluttered, but it’s still miles better than the very boring billboard star livery or the cluttered star member logo livery.

How so?
Star Alliance appear to enjoy many logojets flying without legal issue.
True, true. The Star alliance was investigated by the EEC. Well, if you laid that lot end-to-end they still wouldn’t reach a decision.
All the other alliances have been relatively small fry, the Star All. being the biggest.
Now, these alliances are getting rather big, and the yanks are going to review the situation in line with the “Competition and anti trust” laws.
In other words; no price fixing or monopolising, unless you’ve bunged the right people.
I thought the review was Jan 09. Must be delayed.

I’ve expressed this thought in another forum, but maybe airlines have better things to do with their money in the current economic climate than spend millions turning their planes into works of art? That said, if I’m approaching this entirely from the point of view of an aviation photographer then I have to agree it isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing scheme ever to grace the 747. Then again, I have to also agree with B77W. It is still a jumbo. You could paint the thing bright canary yellow with pink and green dots and it would still look good!

I think they should have done away with the BA logo and had a more interesting one world scheme, more colourful perhaps but kept the navy underbelly and the world famous tail markings to denote its airline affiliation
Just my thoughts

I think this is as bad as the Star logo jets. 😮
By: Bmused55 - 30th January 2009 at 10:15
……. since it looks like they have just stuck a big sticker of One World on there
Thats probably exactly what they have done.

I agree, it does look very clutterd, if they actually added more clour or tried to actually make it blend in with the whole BA theme, it would be much better, since it looks like they have just stuck a big sticker of One World on there

They should bring back the colours worn by JA704J…
That said, the new colours (which I think are pretty similar to the Star “colours”) look pretty reasonable on the Finnair jets… perhaps it would work better if the tail and belly were repainted too (…more like Star…)

That’s just rubbish.
Somebody got paid a lot of money to come up with that. Sheesh, I’d hate to see their rejections.
Maybe it’s a temporary glib attempt, after all it is likely to be ripped apart by the competition and anti-trust laws, especially in USA, so why waste money on a decent scheme that will have to be removed in a few months?

Not what I was expecting. I’m quite undecided as to whether I like it, though.
