BALPA have announced an almost unanimous vote amongst BA pilots to strike in protest at BA’s staffing plans for their new Open Skies airline. Essentially the fear is that Open Skies would employ pilots on inferior terms and conditions to theirs which is a practice widely regarded as being ‘the thin end of the wedge’…

I’m surprised the result was only 86%. I haven’t yet found any pilot willing to admit to voting no.
My favourite part of this was when the chief pilot wrote to all the flight crew explaining that BA didn’t want to “infect” Openskies with BA working agreements. How to win your team over!
Now what date was my next Moscow?
