BA resumed flights from Riyadh yesterday and will restart from Jeddah on Wednesday which for me is good news as I am off on leave in a few weeks time. There was a false report on the BBC website recently saying security forces had intercepted a truck full of shoulder launched missiles outside Jeddah but the report was incorrect as it was a truckload of more conventional weapons outside Mecca.

…It follows a review of security at both airports in coherence with the UK’s Department for Transport and Saudi authorities.
At least western travellers will now get a choice of whether they would like an alcoholic drink or not, which they do not receive from the competition.
