BA to bring back direct LHR-LBA flights!

A four-times daily service between LHR-LBA will commence on December 9th.

Could this move also perhaps see the return of LHR-MME flights too?

I’d imagine MME is too close to NCL and an overlapping catchment area. Sad though, I remember flying frequently on BM Viscounts on that route, fantastic!

No Tommy, they have all gradually been replaced with Embraer E-Jets.

Interestingly, they are leasing a Saab 2000 from Eastern Airways on a long term basis in order to operate the LCY-IOM flights from 25th June…and the aircraft will be painted in full BA CityFlyer livery, which will be quite an interesting sight!

EDIT: Just found this photo of when it was rolled out the paint shop in Eindhoven!:

There are a number of UK domestic routes to LHR that have gone over the years ,MME is one also LPL, INV, NQY and more . Some Ex British Midland routes. Maybe that airline should have stuck with these , rather than loosing there way, they might still be here !

They would just have gone out of business even sooner.
