British Airways, no longer are they the world’s favourite airline because of all these cutbacks etc.
They have said they are no longer going to operate services to 10 destinations – 5 of which will be short haul and 5 long haul. Being such a large airline and operating to nearly every corner of the globe, which of their hundreds of destinations do you think are likely to go? I’m not even going to guess because I think it is a near impossible task! They may have a plan for their european destinations (short-haul). If they stop flying to places where Go (The lo-cost airline) flies, they will still be making profit as this is their own budget airline(??) Like I say, it’s not easy, but someone has to have an idea!
Also, where can I find British Airways press releases, their website has not been very helpful at all!

BA has also cut back it’s services to PErth here in Australia, there are now only five flights aweek to or west coast, and even this is under threat!

RE: BA – Which 10 routes are no more?
I always used to use the LGW-Lusaka route which was a 10 hour haul to Harare then a 45 minute sector to Lusaka. The B747-400 had about 75 passengers on this short hop, typically!
So – do you think they are axing 5 long haul routes or 5 long haul sectors? Subtle difference I think.

Sorry…
…just been swotting up on BBC’s website. Ignore what I said about Go as I wasn’t aware BA had sold the lo-cost airline for £100m!
