And sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction, too.

That’s a bit far-fetched isn’t it, mate?

I think it more because of the fact that such a media-covered event happen over their terrority – so-to-speak – and they have to be seen in good public-light doing something. As you say, the crew (in my opinion) took the correct actions – so nothing is really going to come of the investigation. Well Done to the crew of both incidents!

All good conspiracy theories are far fetched πŸ˜‰

Hey, no, it wasn’t that, it was just everyone talking about BA being in a poor state of affairs, when actually they are back on top of the world. I only used your quote, so not having a go, just thought it was funny that people seemed a long way from the truth.

Oh I see.

That precisely my point about this issue.

The FAA have no legal grounds to go after BA, no rules or laws were broken. yet the publicly state that they are investigation BA.
Perhaps a smear campaign against BA due to envy?

A much improved performance, granted, but hardly “on top of the world”.

An airline that’s on top of the world would normally be expanding it’s business and network, not contracting and retrenching in the way that BA still is.

Try looking a bit further afield than the Heathrow operation and you’ll see what we mean, mate. πŸ™‚

OK, I’m having trouble understanding what your getting at.

Your evidence there points to BA being in relatively good health. But your “made me laugh” statement makes me think you mean otherwise.

indeed not. BA are not in the best position either.

But they are still in better shape than AA, US, DL, CO and definately UA

Oh this made me laugh, on the day when BA announce their return to being the most profitable airline in the world (although take as you will!!) I read this statement, maybe their cash reserves have been eaten away, but they’re pulling themselves together.

The nine month operating profit for last year was Β£500m ($965m), although full year results are not yet out as we’re not at the end of their accounting year yet.

But in my neck of the Woods, referring to the Times means a completely different news paper. πŸ˜‰

Oh, you’re 100% correct there, Sandy.

No such paper as “The Times Of London”, N5552. You must mean “The Times.” πŸ˜‰

Exactly and that is what I donΒ΄t like. If first rate carriers like BA decide for commercial considerations instead of premium passanger safety, then that is a trend which I do not like. If I pay and fly with a major carrier I demand that passenger safety should be their first and only concern in case of a problem of the plane happening.

And the later fuel pump failure shows imho, that there can always be a second problem.
