Just returned from the US (Orlando), I cant really be bothered with a full trip report so just a few images from me. I can say Virgin Atlantic are a fantastic airline and I would go out of my way to fly with them again.
These images were taking with a 9mp camera, but resizing has had an effect on them.
The first pic shows the takeoff from runway 25 at Newcastle onboard G-DOCY:
This was a quick shot I took while deboarding at the back of the aircraft:
Since we arrived at an international gate, we were bused to domestic arrivals which allowed for this shot taken as we waited at the bridge:
After a short stay at the Premier travel inn we were ready to board our 747, G-VXLG Ruby Tuesday, this flight as with the return trip was full:
Soon after departure we saw Gatwick as we headed towards Essex then a left turn towards Manchester
I got many shots similar to this one:
We had some sharp turns to avoid these:
On approach to MCO, a few bumps but a smooth landing in the end:
Im going to work on the videos later on, so I should post that soon. Unfortunatly no images on the inbound journey as cameras were not allowed on board 🙁 Just incase you wanted to know the homeward journey was onboard G-VAST (Ladybird, used in Top Gear I believe) and G-GFFI. The return journey was only delayed by an hour, due to the extra security on UK bound flights, all hand luggage was searched at the boarding point (but the security officers thought it would be funny not to turn up until a hour after our schedueled boarding time). BA8077 was delayed for about an hour, with no reason, flight was nearly empty (surprising when there was so many cancellations beforehand)
Thanks for viewing,
Jon

Excellent shots! I agree with your comments on Virgin Atlantic. I think they are also a great airline – everything with the exception of comfort wins hands down over any other airline*. 🙂
*any other airline that I have flown

Thanks all, There was a few bits of renovating going on but only near immigration.
Just finished putting the videos together (very quickly), this is my first time using google videos so I hope all is OK.
The first one is BA8074:

and this one is VS015, with added music 😎

Again these videos have been compressed and so on, so don’t look there best.

Jon
p.s. heres a video I found on the internet of sheikra at Busch Gardens of which I was forced on:

Yep its JFK, could also see New York City but it showed up to hazy in the photo. Phil, I thought Gatwick was a fantastic airport, even with the heighted security they were well organised. I wouldnt hesitate flying from LGW again, especially with the quick BA flights.
Thanks all
Glad to hear you enjoyed LGW Jon. Have they finished renovating South Terminal arrivals as that was one of the few areas that let LGW down – glad to see them doing something about it!
…and you beat me to the JFK confirmation as well :p

A quick check at Google Maps confirms it’s JFK 😉

Love those shots – especially the VS747 Winglet and the tail of ‘CY! What did you think of Gatwick?
Looking forward to the vids!
