'Baby Branson' strikes again…!

For those that do not read The Sunday Times at a weekend, you may or may not be suprised to know that Martin ‘Baby Branson’ Halstead has been given yet more press space in the Business section!

In my opinion, the very small article does not tell us anything new, and in places is actually wrong. For example, it states that ‘it’ [as in named airline] was meant to be flying SOU-IOM, but switched to SOU-EDI…am I wrong in thinking that it was then switched (again!) to IOM-EDI?

Is it me or could this not have been reported last year once it was made clear that it was not going to work out…?

And the biggest understatement of all is that it says that his airline plans ‘did not turn out as planned’…er, gee wizz, I would of never of guessed…!

There are rumours that he is working for Virgin Atlantic as cabin crew, and is ‘mulling a return to the role of airline boss’, although he could not be contacted to confirm this or not!

Lads, if the resurrection of a 3 year old thread was done just to begin a new round of mud slinging, I will be forced to lock it. So, kindly avoid going in that direction.🙂

No intention, just reporting the ‘facts’ and hoping they are proved one way or the other. 😉

Thought the thread title was more appropriate than more recent postings on the same subject.

To add to Kabir’s posting above: unless someone can come up with a compelling reason (and in fairly short order) for choosing to resurrect a thread that had been closed for over three years, then it will be laid to rest again.

At a crossroads.

With a stake through its heart.

Regards

It is ‘rumoured’ that he who cannot be mentioned may have been appointed as the commercial manager of BV Airways, a new airline being formed in the British Virgin Islands. Funny how that ‘virgin’ keeps popping up! Also rumoured that he was getting married this month! 😉

Drive ? YES
Self-Belief? YES

ABILITY in civil aviation? ????????

YOU DECIDE…

I can see Halstead though as the “Tre” of the 2008 Apprentice! :diablo:

(I’m sure even HE could sell coffee in central London…:) )

in all seriousness for a second… he clearly has lots of drive and self-belief. Surely he could do worse than put himself forward for “The Apprentice” ?

If your already been in the media in any format other than in background of a crowd shot etc your not considered. We have been filmed several times for BBC and i was denied my application for apprentice based on this.

So can we see Mr Halstead venturing into the airline business again, & will his second venture be as successful as his first seems to have been? 😀

Allegedly…

Or, failing that, they shall be cast forth into Outer Darkness.

Where the tortured shades of condemned threads weep and wail and gnash their teeth and serves them blimmin’ well right, too! 😎

oooooooooo….flashback time – we had a VERY religious RE teacher at school who’s favourite quote from the bible was to stride around the classroom with his shaking arms held aloft and he would deliver the stern line “… and there was MUCH wailing and gnashing of teeth !!! ..”

eeek – think i will go and hide behind the sofa for a bit 🙂

Whilst I could go on about this subject for a while, we do need to keep this topic on a commerical aviation theme or i will sadly have to move it to GD!

So anything about Martin Halstead being involved in Commerical Aviation or Alpha One Airways can be discussed. Anything else needs to find its way to the GD forum….

Of course this should all be “allegedly” otherwise the forum will be in all sorts of legal problems…….
