Hats off to the guy. All that work looks good. My big concern would be the Rotax 503. There are other power units available all be it at more expense. My gut feeling would be to save a bit more and fit a more piece-of-mind engine, allowing me to enjoy the thrill of flying this nice machine without a nagging doubt in the back of my head.

But the 2-stroke would probably have the patato-patato-patato sound more than the 912 would have 😉

Hmm not only a Rotax but 2-stroke. Would you fit that given the time you have spent working on the aeroplane? A more proven 912 would make a better choice. Less maintenance intensive also.
