On a related note, I’m sure there is a Strikemaster or something similar at the T in the Park festival site at Kinross…I can’t find any photos though but I’m sure that I’m not making it up. I’ll ask a colleague who was there at the same time as me.

Who was on at the rock festival, did it feature ‘All the Young Dudes’ by Ian HUNTER, did JET Black make an appearance with the Stranglers, did Elton John sing ‘Benny and the JETS’.
I will leave it to others to continue as I have planning issues to deal with.

There is only one airfield next to Interlaken and I am sure it is a military one. I’ve only ever driven past it though.

Wonder waht the story is on this one? looks in good nick but appears engineless? What was the interior of the cockpit like?
No way to tell if it’s engineless from those photos.
F.58 J-4018 was a new-build, i.e. not a refurbished example, delivered in Feb 1959. Eventually retired in Aug 1992 and put on display at Interlaken AFB maintained by Hunterverein. By 2002 it was owned by RUAG Aerospace – not sure if it still is, but judging by those pictures someone is looking after it even if they’re not cutting the grass!

More or less fully intact from what I could see. Couldn’t stand still for too long as the ground around the aircraft was home a few ants nests and they were up your legs well sharpish! The festival was held on what seemed to be an airfield, no idea if civil or former military. The maintainence buildings all seemed to be empty although the adjacent offices were all still in use.
NB- the approach to the runway must have been a bit hairy as there were mountains on all four sides.

You’d think they would cut the grass.
