For passengers travelling on United Airlines who like a coke there is bad news! Those who prefer Coke are to miss out after the airline announced a new deal with rival Pepsi which gives it “global pouring rights.”
By May 16, Coke fans will find their favorite drink has vanished from all United flights. The choice will be between Pepsi and Diet Pepsi.
Announcing what it describes as “a multi-year partnership with the Pepsi-Cola Company,” United said in a statement that, from May 1, it will enter a new arrangement which includes global pouring rights and a marketing alliance.”
United’s Larry De Shon, senior vice-president On-board Service, said: “The Pepsi-Cola Company has been a major corporate customer of United’s for many years and this agreement will allow us to further strengthen our business relationship.”

RE: Bad news for Coca Cola drinkers
I think it depends on the handling agent, from what I can remember flights from Heathrow and Gatwick are Virgin Cola, but from Manchester its Pepsi. I’ll be travelling on Virgin in May so I’ll find out.

This has made me think,do Virgin serve Coca Cola onboard or Virgin Cola?Virgin Cola is not that popular yet has Richard Branson decided to serve his brand onboard?I have travelled Virgin before yet can’t remember what type of Coke I was given.
