BAE Systems Avro C19 returns to Old Warden

BAE Systems Avro C19 G-AHKX returned this afternoon to her Old Warden base in her ew paint scheme representing TX176 of RAF Coningsby. Appropriately she routed to OW via Coningsby and undoubtedly will be well received at this Sundays Airshow ( already sold out for tickets).

I’ve no problem with the temporary repaint, and it’s nice to see an “RAF” Anson again (it seems ages since WD413 was an airshow regular). I did like the blue scheme though-hopefully another attractive civil scheme will appear eventually 🙂

I think it has been influenced by the local air force being 100 years old this year, they did not have an airworthy Anson for events being held.

Yes -and its original registration document lists it as an A.V.R.O XIX Type 652a.

David

Maybe — but the CAA have it registered as an Avro C19 Series 2 on their website.

Its an AVRO XIX not C.19. So sad that of the numerous civil schemes it could have worn -it instead had to go to military!

That looks fabulous! MUCH better than that horrid blue scheme it wore before.

Our local news on the Beeb ran a story about it (Look North, Hull and Lincs) They showed it close up before flying them. I think even despite the gloomy weather at the time it is actually red.

Is the trim day-glo, or just regular orange paint?
