Hi all,
In the next few days, I will be booking a one way flight home – from Orlando to London Heathrow. The lowest fare I can find unfortunately involves two airlines (US Airways and Aer Lingus) and two stops (Philadelphia and Dublin) but I am a little confused about how the baggage charges would work in this situation.
Like just about every other airline on the planet, US Airways now allows just one item of checked baggage on transatlantic flights, which isn’t an issue. I can pay $50 for the second bag no problem. But what happens with the flight from Dublin to Aer Lingus seeing as Aer Lingus now charge for all baggage on short haul flights?
Would the one payment of $50 to US Airways see both my bags off to Heathrow, or is it likely that Aer Lingus will somehow try and sting me for more?
Thanks in advance for any answers!

Thanks for the answers, guys.
Adam, I did try searching for round trips, knowing that I could use just one leg, but they were coming up at significantly more than the £320 or so that this flight will cost. I don’t suppose booking a flight at such little notice really helps with the price.

Have you considered booking a return flight with a fictional return date?
Sometimes it works out cheaper than a one-way!

Once youve checked in bags with US and are transitting DUB you wont have to pay EI for your bags.
