A mate is doing what should be a rather nice one for Microsoft Flightsim.
He has pilot’s notes but they’re a little misleading on engine Mk and rated power
outputs, one pilots notes quotes 1100 b.h.p., crossed out and overwritten in ink as 1255. another has it still as 1100. An article states that the MK35 engines were MK27’s, rebuilt by R.R. and derated to 1250 h.p. to extend their life for use by the Balliols etc.
Can anyone shed any light please.

Many thanks for that Pete.
He needs to get it right for the config/air files so that performance
matches the real thing.
I’ll pass it on.

Merlin 35s were T24s retro fitted with single speed wheelcase and supercharger from the Merlin 32. The T24 was a post war engine built primarily from Merlin 22s, 24s and 25s.
Rated at 1280 bhp take off and 1245 bhp @11,000ft
EDIT: They had a very vocal exhaust system, virtually the same stub as fitted to the P-51 Mustang.
