The last aircraft out of Millom was the cockpit of Balliol WN516, bought by the Staffordshire Aircraft Restoration Team, and now at our storage facility at Baxterley, where it can be seen during the Air Show there on 26th June. We already own the cockpit of Balliol WN534, which is on permanent loan to the Boulton Paul Aircraft Heritage Project. Restoration of that will now be put on the backburner, while we concentrate on WN516, as there is more of it. We offered WN516 to BPA to buy or to have on the same loan deal, but they didn’t want it.
We just want to thank the volunteers at Millom who helped load up the cockpit, the place was a sad and empty sight when we drive away.
