Hey.
I know there is alot of Formula One fans on here and alot of you are British.
So I was wondering what your opinion on BAR being banned from the next 2 grand prix for running an illegal fuel system at the last race.
Jenson Button and Takuma Sato will miss out and Britain best hope of a win at the next 2 races has just gone out the window.
As a Ferrari fan I even think that this is quite strict but the FIA wanted BAR banned for the rest of the season and a fine of €1 million.
Severe but very very lucky.

The rules apparently were “a little grey” by all acounts (and thus open to manipulation as it were) on the news this morning…
There have always been teams, managers, engineers, drivers who would skim as close to breaking the rules as they could, and when it comes down to it 5kgs is quite a substanstial amount to ‘forget’ about. Had they gotten away with it then other teams would be trying to do the same.
Punish the guilty, for they were guilty.

What was done was wrong but to ban them from 2 races is a bit strict. This meens BAR will have gone 6 races without points as the Imola result is now changed.
Taking away the Imola result is bad enough but excluding them from the next 2 races is to much. Any chance they had of a decent championship position is now out the window.
Deservedly so. They shouldn’t have broken the rules. The bigger the ban the better. After all, if the only chance you have of winning is by unfair means, you shouldn’t be competing in the first place.
Regards.

Someone on the radio (Moseley, I think) said something about it never being the teams fault, they always claim its always accidental and nobodies fault.
The rules are there; how can they claim innocence now?
