Just been looking through one of the DVD companies on the net, & found this interesting DVD due for release soon. From the documentary of the Battle of Britain that was recently on the TV. This DVD will be released on 25/03/02, price £14.99. It’s 3hrs 15mins long & has several extra features, looks quite interesting. You’ll find it at http://www.play247.com
Time for a bit of Mossie building, C U all later.

RE: Battle of Britain
Re-make Battle of Britain and Dambusters? I rather hope not…yes, dated they may be in places, cliched too…but that is a part of their appeal…

RE: Battle of Britain
i have looked on the site ( as well as brought dvd’s and cd’s from them), and the picture on the box has got the spitfire and 109 on it, i have this dvd and it really ain’t up to much, it is a 3 disc volume set, however the promised 1 hour of extras is more like 30mins, the series that was on the tele a while ago is available on vid, i cant remember who sells it.

RE: Battle of Britain
if there was ever a candidate for a remake, it should be Battle of britain. While it was good in its day it looks terribly cliched and dated. Instead they keep talking about remaking the Dam busters, presumably with B17s.

RE: Battle of Britain
No, the CD hasn’t been released yet. It’s from the 3 part documentary that was on the TV, a short while ago. Why not have a look & let us all know.
Cheers,

RE: Battle of Britain
If this is the DVD that has a photo of the OFMC SPitfire and Me109 over Dover on the cover, then don’t waste your money as it is crap.
It has nice colour footage of the BBMF in the 50’s when they operated the Spitfire 16’s and of Hurricane LF363 but the producers have got the negative the wrong way round so it comes out in reverse, also it’s silent.
It’s about time the ‘Battle of Britain’ movie came out on DVD with the making of the film documentary added.
I’ve written to Warner Bros onn numerous occasions about this and have never had a reply.
