Hi All

as we are fast approaching the 10th July, I’m looking forward to going to any BoB events organized for this 75th Anniversary, I wondered if anyone could start a list of events ‘in your area’ ?

I understand that the Army Flying Association are organising an event at Middle Wallop on the 15 August (the anniversary of its attack by the Germans).

North Weald Airfield’s Community Day – Salute to the Few is on Sunday 12 July. The BBMF Hurricane and Spitfire will be displaying along with other aircraft. There is a major RAFA input, including a march past of 75 colours from RAFA, London Wing ATC and the RBL. The RAF Regiment and 56 Squadron are also sending contingents. There will be three bands taking part too – the RAF Waddington Voluntary Band, London Wing ATC Band and the Epping Forest Pipe Band. To end the event there will be a sunset ceremony. Entry is £5, with monies raised going to the RAFA Battle of Britain Wings Appeal.

The RAF regiment Queen’s colour squadron are mounting the guard at Buckingham palace this weekend I believe.
On Friday the Queen will be present and the BBMF fighters are due to flypast. The 10th July is considered the start
of the battle. There are flypasts over former airfields planned for August and September.
