Battle Of Britain Day- East Kirkby 13th September
This year the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby will be celebrating our victory in the Battle of Britain with a Dog Fight between a Spitfire and Me109; and two Lancaster Taxy Runs.
The Museum will be open all day and the Lancaster taxy runs will take place at 1.30pm and 4.00pm (L).
We expect the flying to begin with an attack of the airfield by the 109 including ground pyrotechnics.
The Spitfire will then scramble from East Kirkby grass strip in front of the crowd to tackle the 109. A Dog Fight will then ensue culminating in a victory for the Spitfire (of course) and a few victory rolls.
This display is expected to begin at 14.30 (L), but you can never quite guess when the Hun will arrive.
Tally Ho!!

Latest update is both the Spitfire & Buchon/109 are now planning to land at East Kirkby, subject to weather etc. Originally there was a chance one, or both, would recover into Coningsby.
The Lancaster will taxi at 13:30 and 16:00 with Spitfire/Buchon dogfight around 14:30
