Battle of Britain Day petition

Please would anyone who wishes to see the 15th September re-recoginsed as Battle of Britain Day please sign my e-petition on No10’s website http://www.petitions.pm.gov.uk/battleofbritain. Sometimes this link does not work and you may have to type in “battle of britain” in the home pages search engine

Thank you
Andrew Russell

The correct address is http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/BattleofBritain/?ref=battleofbritain . Doesn’t seem to like the www s that site. BR

Thank you to everyone who has signed the online petition.
Just to clear up one small item, all I want to do is to get Battle of Britain day re-recognised so that it shares the same status as Remembrance Day ie: named on calendars, diaries, etc and church services etc to honour the 544 who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Thanks everyone
Andrew Russell

Good for you Andrew!

Everybody, particularly the youger generation, should be aware of the significance of that date and of the sacrifice made by the generation that fought for our freedom.

Russell, I support and applaud your efforts but have to say I am not confident of the outcome.

We, knowing a little (or in some cases a lot) more about it than joe public, place more importance on the Battle of Britain but in terms of British history is it, in the long run, any more important than, say, Trafalgar, Agincourt, D-Day, Spanish Armada, etc. Although Remembrance Day does mark a specific day in history it has become a general day to remember all who have fallen in all battles since.

Battle of Britain Day

Hello Andrew,

Well I am glad that I read your thread today.

I had NO IDEA that the BoB Day had been cancelled 🙁 .

I got on to the link you gave and signed up right away .

I do not think that many are aware of the cancellation .

Please visit more websites Andrew and spread the word .

Thank you for bringing this important issue to our attention 🙂 .
