Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Evening 26/1/11

BBMF Evening – operating and flying some of Britain’s best loved aircraft!

Tickets are now on sale for a special Battle of Britain Memorial Flight evening to take place at the Orsett Hall Hotel, Essex RM16 3HS, on Wednesday 26 January 2011. Funds raised from the evening will benefit the Vulcan Restoration Trust in its continued work in preserving Avro Vulcan B2 XL426 – ‘The Southend Vulcan’.

Flying one of only two airworthy Avro Lancasters left in the world, plus five Supermarine Spitfires, two Hawker Hurricanes and a Douglas Dakota, the Royal Air Force’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, appears at hundreds of air shows and flypasts across the country each year. The evening will feature a presentation by Squadron Leader Jeff Hesketh, who has recently retired as a navigator on the Flight’s Lancaster and Dakota. Jeff will be speaking about the work of the Flight as well as what it is like to fly these iconic aircraft.

Still plenty of tickets left. Should be a really a great night, for a very reasonable ticket price – and all for a very worthwhile cause. 🙂
