Breathtaking footage – I don’t think I’ve seen much, if any, of it before!!
Turn the sound down, though, as there is some truly God-awful “music” added to the film!

Galland did get to fly in the two-seater at some point, but not in the actual filming.
Steve Hinton’s a good bloke – I e-mailed him out of the blue once, and he replied without fuss! 🙂

It is difficult to imagine that they had so many Buchons flying together. I thought maybe it was cut and paste photography :).
Is it true that Galland flew in the movie?
I had a long talk with Steve Hinton last year about the Buchon. He had some VERY interesting comments about the plane – the subject of a new thread I think.

There’s another documentary series that uses extensive out-takes from the film: Fighting The Blue. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this one, but from the website’s blurb, I think it sounds bloody good!

The Worldbackgrounds footage was used extensively in the history channels three part series on the Battle of Britain, which is available on DVD.

Brilliant link Daz.
Love the way you have educated the unimformed You Tube masses about the charms and importance of the Buchon. 😀
Personally Ive always thought the Buchon was a better looking aircraft than the Me 109 but each to their own.
And yes a very poor soundtrack. I got 30 seconds in and muted it.

I muted the sound and played Sir William Walton’s Battle in the Air instead, much better!

Absolutely magic. It made my morning. The sound track did not bother me but it would have been better with the original score from the film which was unforgettable.

Have to agree great footage, but dump the backing track!
