Battle of Britain scoring

I listened to a link found by Moggy today and an interview with B of B Pilot Dizzy Allen. http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/battleofbritain/11431.shtml
Several interviews well worth hearing quite moving in fact.

Dizzy made a statement that surprised me. Making a point about the training of Fighter Pilots on which he held strong views, that out of the 200 or so RAF fighter pilots that took part in the Battle, that 17 Pilots alone were responsible for shooting down all the German aircraft destroyed.
I am sure there are members who could confirm this. Please enlighten me. 🙂
