What a palava it was for us to get Maurice Hammond clearance for the flypast at the Sawbridgeworth airfield memorial last week. I bet Stansted bent over backwards for this event though :rolleyes:

I am led to believe that exactly the same conditions were applied to this flypast as to that last weekend involving the Mustang at Sawbridgeworth. As it is on the extended centreline of Stansted’s runway 05, and well inside their airspace, they could have said no…… :rolleyes: But they didnt, and we all got to see the aeroplanes!
Yes they probably did apply the same conditions, just a bit of jealousy on my part as we paid for Maurice to appear out of the meagre funds we had raised ourselves.
Mr Beckham probably can afford it, having a flypast at the memorial for the veterans broke our bank but was worth it :p and probably more appreciated 😀 .

Yes, acccording to the news this evening, the Beckhams decided to scrap the flypast because it would highlight any rivalry between England and Germany.
Would a Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane flying in formation really do that ????
