Another chance on BBC 4 tonight at 9.00pm to see the documentary about the building of a Wellington bomber in one day

Well I for one hadn’t seen it before! Glad I caught it, an excellent documentary!
Maybe as all those cuts bite, we can persuade the BBC to start rerunning the series “Wings” :diablo:
I had not seen it either. Thought it was pretty good. Had seen the original documentary several times on visits to Chester Open Days.
Perhaps we could have a rerun of Airline too, think that is what it was called, DC3s much of of it filmed at Squires Gate.

only my wife had just returned to the room after going awol for `Dig 1940` and my suggested viewing was met by a stare and stoney silence.
Ah, so she does what I did when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and its prodigious number of spin-offs came on the television!

Not a bad programme shame the Wellington survived the war only to be scrapped in 1948!!
But if anything it does show what a motivated British workforce can do, i wonder if the record still stands though?
It is on I player if anyone in the UK missed it.

………..if you haven’t seen the umpteen repeats of the programme already. But perhaps this is the inevitable consequence of BBC funding cuts and a surfeit of channels!

AA, I for one can’t get enough repeats of this programme. I most love the screening for the workers, incredibly evocative.
