Picture the scene- me having a cup of tea this morning before going to work, watching BBC breakfast. North West Today comes on (the local news bit). One of headlines is “First sections of new advanced super fighter are delivered from BAe Warton”. Ah, good, something interesting.
“The first fuselage sections of the worlds most advanced fighter are being delivered to the US today from BAe Warton facility. BAE makes the sections for the F 35 Lightning 2 aircraft”, says the presenter. On comes a bit of film as the report continues, and im aghast and incredulous at what I see – BBC research at its very worst. You guessed- we didnt see footage of this flying around:

No, we see footage of the wonder plane of the 1950s! Which was nice to see, but it aint news!

I think there are a few here on the forum who wouldn’t complain at the return of the EE Lightning to RAF service.:D
Just imagine one in the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight! For that matter just imagine an airshow with a BBMF EE Lightning in formation with XH558…I can dream;)

What a load of clowns, and to think we pay £130 plus a year for these idiots.
They should have asked this “idiot” to research that item. But in all honesty I can see exactly how that mistake occurred.
