Just watching this series from the early 80’s, it looks like the prototype lightning on the parade ground at Henlow. Can anyone confirm this?
I brought this series on DVD amongst others from this website

Ordered them 2 days ago & they arrived this morning, I just about remember watching it in tv originally. Looking forward to Test Pilot 😀

I think the lightning was in the ‘indoor’ parade hanger? Canberra was outside in my time with the vampire on the main site as you came through from the domestic.

Lightning ?,a vampire was at Swinderby
I don’t remember a Lightning at Swinderby I recall a Canberra on the parade ground and a Vampire outside the guardroom before they put it on pylons in 1977

I did read recently that the BBC had recently sold all of the rights to their documentary archive to a bouncy castle firm in Slough in return for free bouncy castles at the BBC Summer Party, so I am sure it’s all 100% legit:)

According to my ancient 9th Edition of Wrecks and Relics Henlow had 2 Lightning P1As on the Officer Cadet Training Unit parade ground.
WG760 went to Binbrook by road on 29/7/82 and WG763 to Manchester by road on 17/8/82 but no mention of a Lightnoing at Swinderby at that time.

Given that the contact e-mail address is a bouncy castle hire firm in Slough…. I’d say the legality is somewhat suspect……

On a scale of 1 to 10 , how legal do you think those DVDs are?

That would be right….. I bumped into it a few years later at Binbrook where it was being subjected to some much needed TLC.
There was one at Swinderby too, although I don’t think that was the same example.
