Weather permitting, though not looking at all good, one BBMF Spitfire should depart tomorrow, 19 April, ready to be overhead, Cassel, France, at some time around 11.30 French time – or 10.30 UK time. You can work out departure times back from there…!!

This for funeral salute for Sgt W J Smith RAAF.

Coningsby-Cassel-Coningsby in one go, that must be close on the fuel limit!

Hope the weather plays ball, fingers crossed!

The spreadsheet that you can download from http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/displayinfo/ gives PDA rehearsal date as Fri 20/4, PDA Tue 24/4 with WX back up as Thu 26/4. No times on there though.

re;

Here she is with LF363, BBMF 50th, 2007. Who else was there? Absolutely wonderful!

the only airworthy Hurricane in Europe with cannons too. I know they are replicas but who cares its not as if she will ever use real ones. I remember a compere years ago saying that the Blenheim “has full armament, not that she uses them more is the pity – it would be fun to loose them over the wash but its not a good idea…”

Please – what is PZ 865?

And what are the 1 Sqn colours?

As you have seen, ex-OC BBMF flew me last month & we are both ex-No1!

= Tim

pz865 was the last hawker hurricane built.

The Dak was working hard dropping paras at Arnhem this weekend, and it was a delight to hear the crowds reaction as she flew low directly overhead the Oosterbeek cemetry as the commemoration service ended.

Not the easiest shot to take as the cemetry is surrounded by tall trees

My favourite BBMF Hurricane scheme was the 85 Squadron Night Fighter scheme worn by LF363 during part of the 1980’s.
