Apparently the Lancaster was seen over/near Chesterfield twice on Saturday.
Don’t know how I missed it unless I was in a heap on the settee.
Second time, 4:00pm ish, I hear it was accompanied by one of the fighters.
Bloke from the pub wants to know which one.
Fluffy?
Same bloke has also heard the Dakota is U/S. Is this true?

Hi all,
Yes the Lanc was over here with a Spitfire escort, just the once though. She did a quick couple of circuits over the gala at Calow school before dashing off back over towards Lincolnshire. Got a spectacular view of it from my back garden.
Apparently they do a flypast for the gala every year, last year it was the Dakota and the year before the Lanc.
Best regards

Fluffy, although a change is still a way off yet, do the BBMF ground crew/personnel ever have an inkling of what the Lanc’s new markings will be each time? I mean, how much of a ‘secret’ is it when it’s due?
Cheers!
Mike

Errrrr…I thought U/S meant UnServicable? ~Confuzzled look~

Yes indeed, both the Lanc and a Spit were in the Chesterfield area on Saturday. So you were right.
Where in Chesterfield exactly I have not got a clue.
If your mate thinks the BBMF Dak is in the US then either he’s had too much of the fallin down liquid or you up for a laugh.
The Dak was last to display at Hardwick Hall last Saturday and is due to display at both Peranporth & Brize Norton this Saturday. There is no way it could be in the US.
Regards.
