If the place really must have a name I suggest either Albert or Linda.

Albert = Avro Lancaster Being Expertly Refurbished Today.

Linda = Lancaster In New Duxford ‘Angar

What ever you call it here, it will probably end up being called the ‘Sir David Attenborough’ anyway.

I am with Ghostrider on this as well. Bob, short and sweet, easy to remember and relevant.

I like ‘Bob’. Or Kate, for short.

I would call the hangar ‘Bob’.

I knew straight away that that would be me.:D However, I think the meaning was clear which, at the end of the day, is the only thing that really matters. So no complication there really. We have discussed this on here many, many times in relation to spelling and grammer (yes I know but I went to a technical school:apologetic:) and the dreaded greengrocer’s’ (just to be safe) apostrophe. The “end of the day” is relevant as I find that as it gets late I start to struggle with even the simplest of words and have to look them up. Of course, we all secretly know what this could be the onset of but like the big C nobody wants to mention it.

Anyway, thanks for drawing my attention to my mistake so that I can correct it and put an end to my embarrassment.

For starters I think calling it a hangar rather than a hanger is a good place to start, let’s not overcomplicate matters…….

I suspect the fighters and Dak will also be refurbed in the new hangar and as such it’s likely to get referred to as the BBMF hangar.

I seem to recall seeing the new hangar on a plan that showed “Building 430” or 435…or was it AREA 51 Revision A

Er “The New Hangar” but might get confused with Airspace, “Building 617” if free, “Building PA474”, “BOB the Re-Builder”, “Duxford Services”.

I understood you perfectly Sideslip, hangar permanent, PA474 not permanent, simples.

I would call the hangar ‘Bob’.

Or even Building 850 as it’s twice the size !

We know that the Lancaster will only occupy the Hangar for the duration of the major but we can still name it can we not?
Blenheim Palace still has its name and the Blenheim has been out of there for donkeys years
