Hi all, just thought some people might want to see the Lancaster today over East Anglia / London so I put together a map of the operations. Over Peterborough 11:55 and Buckingham Palace at 1300, then return and Peterborough again at 1405 and land at CGY at 1430. Beautiful triple flypasts from the Lanc and fighters over Chelmsford

Interesting – we got the BBMF low today, but a number of miles to the East of the route given – Stuart Gowans might have got a decent view as they went over Finchingfield?

Do the big flypasts still form up over the Suffolk coast, routing via Ipswich, Colchester, Chelmsford, Fairlop ?

As far as I know its upto 100 current serving RAF aircraft (and one type that will be retired next year) and the BBMF. I don’t think you are likely to get any other aircraft from none RAF operators

Hi Binbrook 01,
Yeah, I think the RAF are planning a mass-flypast “where up to 100 aircraft, representing the RAFβs history will fly over Buckingham Palace.”

Well you should get a bigger flypast over London on the 10th July, admittedly its a Tuesday, but 100 days from the RAFs birthday….

Lancaster and fighters held over Boreham Essex and not Loughton as stated see them very easily without the binos this time.
Every year the flight gets smaller but hopefully next year will have the F35

Had most of the flypast fly over the house except the helicopters, Atlas, Reds and the BBMF, though I saw the BBMF in the distance.

The Lancaster has just done two passes at the Newport Pagnell WWII event. Lower than I would have anticipated. π

Normally the fighters hold over Hanningfield reservoir and I can just about see them with the binos, the flight passes just above our heads here, I think the Reds use Chelmsford City as the cue to hit the smoke
